Introduction to the Bible
”Do not know the Bible, do not know Jesus Christ” (Saint Jerome).
The Bible is the revealed Word of God, and also the word of man, the word of witnesses about God.
This is not only a book that speaks to us about God, but basically also more importantly a book in which God speaks to us about Himself, through the witnesses whom He himself chose among the people of Israel. All the books in the Bible revolve around the Covenant God made with mankind.
Jesus Christ is the center of the Bible. For He Himself is the Incarnate Word, the Word that became flesh. The Bible leads us to the Son of God, to the infinite mercy of God the Father. The Passion and Resurrection of Christ Jesus is the fullfilment of revelation, the New Covenant that God made with man in self-sacrificing Love. That is also the goal of the Christian faith.
It can be said that the Bible is the most beautiful and longest love song in human history. That love song continues to be written in the vast universe, in different cultures, in all the events of life and in the hearts of every person who is sincerely searching for Truth – Compassion – Beauty.
In order to understand the Bible, we must read in faith and pray, especially receive interpretation from the Church established by the Apostles and always faithful to the norms they set. They are always aware that the main author of the Bible is God, as well as that they are only servants serving the Word of God.
Moreover, Scripture has always been an openness, a state of grace of the person who discovers himself before God, through the cross of Christ. Why do we live? What is the purpose of life, of being?
